What makes our winches the best?

Our winches are chosen by the worlds best naval designers and shipyards for many reasons but the primary one is that they have proven themselves to be the best.

• Designed from experience - We have the practical experience to build winches that not only perform on our design software but have been proven to survive the harshest tests on the oceans of the world.
• Individually designed for the task - We don't sell a standard winch, we design each winch for the load, rope diameter and  application it is to be used for. We will not sell you a stock winch that we think might do, we design and model it to make sure it will do exactly what it is asked to.
• Lightweight - We use carbon fibre winch drums and aluminium frames. Excess material is machined away to reduce weight.
• Modular design - Winches are based around common components to make servicing and the supply of spare parts easy.
• Engineered simplicity - We make our winches easy to maintain and service. Regularly inspected parts are easy to access. Most maintenance can be done by any engineer who can read a manual, no specialised tools required.
• Sealed for life gearboxes - From experience we know that checking and changing fluids in the confined space of a hull can lead to messy spills and introduce contamination. Our gearboxes will not require oil changes for the life of the winch.
• Open book servicing - We do not lock our designs away from our customers and force them to use dedicated service agents. We will give you the original manufacturer's part numbers for parts we do not make. If it is quicker for you to get a manufactured part made locally than have us ship it to you, we will send your engineer the drawings.
• We do one thing and do it well. Hydraulic winches are our business, we do not have other products to fall back on if they don't work so we strive to be the best. 

Our clients usually find us through reputation by word of mouth, we don't do magazine advertisements or have any glossy brochures. Our usual customers are naval architects, marine specifiers, spar makers, shipyards, boat refitters and the boat owner who knows exactly what they want.
